Job summary

Woodberry Forest is seeking a Prep Cook for the PM shift to support the Dining Services team. The role requires high-volume prep, strong knife skills, and flexibility to cover salad/pantry, grill, and saute sections during rushes.

Maintain sanitation, assist with line cooking, and ensure efficient station turnover. Ideal candidates have 1+ years in a prep or line cook role, ServSafe or equivalent certification, and the ability to multitask while communicating clearly with the kitchen team.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a prep cook, line cook, or kitchen assistant in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Demonstrable knife skills and familiarity with basic kitchen machinery.
• Food Handler's Certification required upon hire or within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients per recipe specifications and yield standards.
• Prepare dressings, sauces, marinades, soups, and cold items for daily service.
• Assemble salads and cold appetizers in the Salad/Pantry Room during peak hours.
• Assist with Grill and Sautee stations, cooking proteins to precise temperatures.
• Float between stations to relieve bottlenecks during peak service hours.
• Maintain FIFO and ensure prep areas and stations are stocked and organized.
