Job summary

The Galt House Hotel is seeking a Prep Cook to join our Culinary team. The Prep Cook will prepare ingredients, portion food, and assist with daily kitchen operations to uphold our high standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety.

You will work under the direction of chefs to support banquets, restaurants, and events; maintain a sanitary workstation; label and store items correctly; and operate kitchen equipment safely while contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, portioning, and measuring food items according to recipes and chef specifications.
• Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation for restaurants, banquets, and special events.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
• Properly label, store, and rotate food products following food safety guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow all sanitation procedures.
• Support the culinary team with additional duties as assigned.
