Job summary

The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated is seeking Prep Cooks in Jersey City, NJ to join our high-volume kitchen. You’ll prepare hundreds of recipes, follow precise prep lists, and work with a team dedicated to consistent quality and hospitality.

Responsibilities include reading recipes, measuring portions, and using professional kitchen equipment. We value reliability, speed, and a positive attitude in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Proficient with kitchen tools, equipment, and culinary techniques.
• Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and safety standards.
• Ability to multitask with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Must be at least 18 years old and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Follow a prep list while completing tasks efficiently with speed and urgency.
• Read and follow recipes using accurate measurements, weights, and portioning.
• Prepare ingredients using strong knife skills including chopping, dicing, and slicing.
• Use cooking methods including boiling, broiling, roasting, sauteing, frying, and grilling.
• Prep ingredients for 200+ menu items including sauces, dressings, and soups.
• Operate ovens, fryers, broilers, flat tops, grills, tilt skillets, mixers, and slicers.
• Label, date, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.
• Follow instructions maintaining organization, safety standards, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• Adhere to food safety, handling, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
• Support teamwork through clear, effective communication.
• Work well under pressure while maintaining high standards.
