Job summary

Velvet Taco, Inc. in THE PEARL area of San Antonio, TX is seeking a Prep Cook to join a vibrant, fast-paced kitchen. This role offers $15.00 per hour with tips, and can be full-time or part-time depending on scheduling.

You’ll prepare high-quality items to order, follow recipes, and help maintain a clean, organized station. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, strong kitchen knowledge, and solid time-management skills.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant
• Strong kitchen knowledge and time management skills
• Scratch kitchen experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality food items to order with passionate speed
• Follow the recipes and ensure food presentation looks outstanding
• Complete assigned prep list and portion all products per spec
• Efficiently run station during the shift, follow recipes and stock food as needed
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, and preparation methods
• Assist in ensuring deliveries are received and stored in a timely manner
• Label food and ensure proper rotation (FIFO)
• Maintain a driven, intense pace with good cleaning habits throughout shift
• Assist with cleaning smallwares and equipment as needed
• Other functions as assigned by management
