Job summary

North Beach Social in Santa Rosa Beach, FL is seeking a Prep Cook for full-time and/or part-time roles. You will assist the back-of-house team, follow chefs' prep lists, and help maintain a safe, clean kitchen while supporting the culinary team.

Candidates should have relevant culinary training and be comfortable in a fast-paced resort or restaurant setting. Serv Safe certification is preferred or can be obtained after employment.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification and/or experience in a hotel, resort, or quality restaurant.
• Able to read labels and communicate with guests about needs.
• Basic English reading, writing, and speaking preferred.
• Serv Safe certifications (can be obtained after employment).

Responsibilities

• Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
• Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
• Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
