Job summary

Roost is seeking a Prep Cook to support our kitchen operations and deliver consistent, high-quality meals by preparing ingredients with accuracy and care, keeping prep stations stocked and organized to ensure readiness for every shift.

You will follow recipes, monitor food safety, rotate inventory using FIFO, and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to ensure smooth service, teamwork, and opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Passion for food and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare food consistently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and team oriented.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, fruits, proteins, sauces, and other ingredients according to company recipes and standards.
• Complete daily prep lists efficiently and accurately.
• Label, date, and properly store all food products following food safety guidelines.
• Maintain clean, organized prep stations and kitchen equipment.
• Monitor product quality and rotate inventory using FIFO procedures.
• Assist with stocking and organizing kitchen inventory.
• Communicate with the Kitchen Manager and Back of House Captain regarding product needs and shortages.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Support fellow Team Members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist with additional kitchen duties as assigned.
