Job summary

Avvio Millbury, part of Newport Restaurant Group, is hiring a Prep Cook to support a scratch kitchen. You’ll prep, portion, and organize ingredients for every service, following recipes precisely and maintaining a clean, stocked station.

We value detail, stamina, and teamwork. Prior prep experience helps, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn will take you far. Training is provided in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knife skills and comfort following recipes and prep lists with precision.
• Ability to stand, lift, and move for extended periods (up to 25–50 lbs).
• Flexibility to work days, some nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Break down, portion, and prep ingredients to spec so the line is set up for success every service.
• Follow receipts and prep lists with precision – consistency is everything in a scratch kitchen.
• Handle knife work, batch cooking, and mise en place with care and efficiency.
• Keep your workspace clean, organized, and stocked throughout your shift.
• Communicate with the culinary team to prioritize tasks and keep the kitchen moving.
