Job summary

Over Easy in Tempe is hiring a Prep Cook to help us deliver bright, energizing and real breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes. You will prepare fresh ingredients, keep a clean, organized kitchen, and ensure timely service during shifts.

We value a strong team, attention to detail, and adherence to food safety standards. This non-exempt role offers overtime eligibility and opportunities for development and advancement with a supportive, family-like culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation or restaurant environment preferred.
• Must maintain a valid Food Handlers’ certification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes.
• Able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Must be at least 16 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh ingredients and maintain an organized, sanitary workspace.

The Position Specifics

Every morning, we whip up delicious modern takes on a classic breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes. An Over Easy Prep Cook plays a key role in setting the kitchen up for success by preparing fresh ingredients and maintaining an organized, sanitary workspace.

• Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality, food safety/sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served.
• Responsible for being well-acquainted with all menu items, recipes, plating guidelines, and sanitation/basic safety information.
• Prepares a variety of food items using knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags.
• Shows up when scheduled and prepares, stocks, and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station including tables, shelves, broilers, sauté, burners, ovens, flat top griddles, and refrigeration equipment both during and after service.
• Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly in accordance with health department standards.
• Closes the kitchen properly and follows the opening and closing checklist for kitchen stations completing deep clean projects.
