Great Western Dining Service at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, KS, is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to prepare delicious meals for multiple meal periods. The ideal candidate can follow instructions, multitask, and move around a busy kitchen safely.

Qualifications

Prep Cook - M-Th 3-8 PM

Great Western Dining Service at our Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, KS, location is looking for a skilled Prep Cook to prepare delicious meals.. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as cook
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Very good communication skills
