Job description

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Prep Cook at the Florence Center.

Summary

This is a hands-on position responsible for the production of cold foods under the direction of the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and/or Lead Line Cook.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of cut vegetables, baked goods and hot/cold sauces.
  • Maintains organized sanitary workstation at all times. · Properly labels and dates food items for storage.
  • Uses cutlery and kitchen machinery.
  • Minimizes waste by following established production techniques. · Follows approved recipes and production standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and or the Director of Food & Beverage

Qualifications/ Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to produce high quality food in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to follow recipes and perform basic math in order to calculate production demands.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitary practices.
  • Ability to become ServSafe Certified.
  • Maintains proper grooming and dress code standards.
  • Work ethic encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment.

Education and/or Experience

  • One year of experience as a prep cook, not including fast-food or short-order cooking.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Daily lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time.
  • Constant standing, walking, stooping. Constant reaching, handling products.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than 30 hours per week on average.
  • Hours vary based on need.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends based on facility event schedule.
