Job summary

Rye Street Tavern, part of Clyde's Restaurant Group, is seeking a Prep Cook to join our Baltimore team. You will support kitchen operations, prep vegetables, proteins, and sauces, and help maintain a clean, organized station.

Qualifications

• Hardworking and hospitality-driven with a focus on guest service.
• Experience as a prep cook in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Ability to read and prep recipes to measurements and standards.
• Available to work a variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, slice, dice, chop ingredients as required.
• Operate slicer and processor for meats, cheeses, and vegetables.
• Prepare ingredients for service and maintain station organization.
• Use ovens, ranges, and scales to portion and manage food prep.
• Label, date, and store prepped items and keep prep area clean.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A PREP COOK

• Hardworking, attentive, and hospitality-driven with a desire to excel and maintain the highest level of service
• Experience as a prep cook desired, preferably in a high-volume restaurant
• Ability to read and prep recipes to measurements and standards
• Available to work a variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A PREP COOK

• Wash, peel, slice, dice, chop, and otherwise prepare raw vegetables, meat and fish
• Use a commercial food slicer to slice various meats, cheese, and vegetables
• Use a commercial food processor to prep foods
• Operate both convection and conventional ovens and gas ranges
• Lift, handle, weigh, and portion food items using a commercial portion control scale
• Label, date, and store prepped product
• Clean, wipe, and scour prep equipment and machinery, and sweep and mop prep area floors
