Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a full-time Prep Cook in Andover, NH to support daily meal preparation and presentation for a coeducational preparatory boarding school.

The position offers an hourly pay range of $19.00 to $21.00, with Monday–Friday, 8am–3:30pm schedules and benefits including health, vision, dental, and more.

Responsibilities include following recipe lists, labeling and stocking ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safe food handling and sanitation across all duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of prior food preparatory experience preferred.
• ServSafe® Certification, principles of food production techniques.
• Ability to measure products and convert units.
• Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine kitchen tasks and follow the prep list to plan duties.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves for organization and easy access.
• Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other prep work.
• Set up workstations and ingredients according to recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
• Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
• Take temperatures and follow food safety standards.
• Help organize coolers, freezers, and storerooms; keep items labeled and dated.
• Keep work areas clean and sanitized.
• Attend production meetings daily and provide input on leftovers, efficiency, and quality.
• Perform all duties per food safety and sanitation best practices.

Salary Range: $19.00 To $21.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Prep Cook responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of daily meals as well as special events and high-end catering at a coeducational, independent preparatory boarding school for grades 9-12 on 2,500 beautiful acres in Andover, New Hampshire

• Full-time
• $19-$21 Per Hour
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-3:30pm

What the Prep Cook will do:

• Perform routine kitchen tasks and follow therep list created to plan duties
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves for organization and easy access
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and doing other meal prep
• Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food
• Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees
• Take and record temperatures, following all required food handling and sanitation standards to ensure food safety
• Assist with the organization and sanitation of coolers, freezers, and storerooms: all items covered, labeled, and dated
• Keep work areas organized, cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment
• Attend production meetings daily, offering input concerning leftover utilization, efficiency, product quality, etc.
• Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned
