Job summary

Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse - Pre Op for a full-time day shift to provide patient-focused care before procedures and coordinate the post-operative plan with the health care team.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or eligible), BLS, ACLS within 90 days, and 1–3 years of acute or critical care experience. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
• Experience in acute care or critical care environments preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to provide quality care.
• Develop a plan of care in collaboration with patient/family.
• Educate patients post operatively.
• Implement medical plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Evaluate problems and patient responses to care.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation.
• Maintain current licenses/certifications and pursue ongoing development.
• Perform duties of the Preprocedural & Post Procedural Division as required.
• Maintain department supplies and inventory.
• Assist with other duties to support department operations.
• May be required to stay on campus during severe weather or disasters.
