Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Days shift in Preoperative care. The role covers planning, executing, directing and evaluating preoperative nursing care with emphasis on patient advocacy and collaboration with anesthesia staff and physicians.

The RN will work with established clinical standards, support quality improvement, and ensure culturally competent care for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Texas in good standing.
• ACLS required within 3 months of hire; NRP within 6 months for Women’s Hospital.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred; ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, direct and evaluate direct and indirect nursing care in the preoperative phase.
• Provide nursing care for patients during the pre-operative perioperative experience.
• Act as patient advocate and coordinate with anesthesia staff and physicians.
• Ensure care aligns with Nurse Practice Act and ANA Standards; participate in quality improvement.
