Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Hospital-Based Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered nursing care across age groups in a regional academic health system. The RN will work under a nurse manager, performing assessments, planning care, and collaborating with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Essential responsibilities include administering medications, coordinating with families, and ensuring safety and quality through evidence-based practices. Licensure in KY or compact state is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Pediatric/ACLS/PALS certifications may be required for specific units.

Responsibilities

• Conducts systematic assessments of patient health status from admission to discharge across the care continuum.
• Administers medications per licensing authority and documents administration.
• Plans care with the care team using current scientific knowledge and nursing standards.
• Collaborates with patient and family to identify problems and develop age-specific care plans.
• Delivers nursing care to meet patient and family health care needs and promotes safety and quality.
