Job summary

MU Health Care in Jefferson City, MO is hiring a skilled Registered Nurse for the Pre Op JC department. The role requires assessing patient needs, planning care, and performing nursing interventions to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule (6am–4:30pm) with rotating day off and mandatory call rotation, on-site work at Capital Region Medical Center. Excellent patient care and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
• One (1) year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly.
• Demonstrates an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects. Educates patients and significant others about their medications.
• Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.
• Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
