Qualifications

  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.
  • Active RN license as required by the state of employment.
  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients’ care area and ensure availability of necessary equipment.
  • Conduct physical and psychological assessments of patients.
  • Administer pre-operative medications and monitor patients until transferred to the OR.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a Preoperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively for your patients. As a valued addition to our company, you will exhibit the values of HCA as a whole, as well as your individual center, providing quality care like family.

What you will do in this role:

  • Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before the case.
  • Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure.
  • Conduct complete physical and psychological assessments and evaluations of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests.
  • Review your patients’ charts for completeness prior to surgery.
  • Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
  • Monitor your patients until transferred to the OR.

Qualifications you will need:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required.
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.
  • Active RN license as required by the state of employment.
  • Online certification not acceptable.
  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • PALS if required by the facility within 30 days of hire.
