Job summary

Banner Surgery Center – Thunderbird, managed by Atlas Healthcare Partners, offers a patient‑centered nursing role on the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center Campus. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative care across preop, operative and postop phases, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and compassionate care.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS and ACLS, PALS within 90 days if pediatrics, and at least 1 year of PreOp/PACU experience;

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice (or compact).
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS certification required within 90 days if ASC pediatrics.
• Minimum 1 year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.
• New RN or those without PreOp/PACU experience may enroll in the Perianesthesia Academy.
• Perianesthesia Academy completion within 4 months for eligible candidates.
• PRN: previous PreOp/PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental and post-op needs.
• Formulate a care plan including discharge planning with patient/family input.
• Implement and coordinate care with the health team per physician orders and policies.
• Communicate patient status clearly to the care team to ensure continuity.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the chart.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in education of staff and patients.
• Support facility leadership and mentor other personnel as appropriate.
• Contribute to quality improvement and nursing outcomes.
• Provide excellent service experience to patients and families.
