Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a PreOp-PACU Nurse for a seasonal full-time role on the day shift. The position involves preparing the OR and patient for surgery, maintaining sterile technique, and documenting perioperative care in the patient record.

Required are current RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications, and perioperative experience; CNOR and BSN are preferred. The role supports patient safety and efficient surgical flow within a healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR (AORN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, ensure cleanliness, and confirm equipment functionality.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, verify identity and surgical site, aid positioning and pre-operative procedures.
• Document vital signs, medications administered, and relevant notes in the medical record.
• Maintain sterile environment and infection control; ensure team follows instrument handling procedures.
