Job summary
Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Operating Room RN to provide comprehensive nursing care during surgical procedures. The role involves collaborating with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and preparing patients for surgery, including conducting assessments and verifying identities.
The ideal candidate must possess a valid state RN License and relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and perioperative experience are preferred for this full-time position.
Qualifications
- Must have a current and valid state RN License.
- Must have current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire.
- Must have current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire.
- Must have current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire.
- Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment is functional.
- Assist in preparing the patient for surgery by verifying identity and surgical site.
- Document relevant information and vital signs during the procedure.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room.
