Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital Group is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse PreOp PACU at Townsen Memorial Surgery Center in Katy, TX. The RN will admit patients to pre-op/PACU, provide care before and after surgery, and develop individualized nursing care plans.

Active TX RN license, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least 2 years peri-operative experience are required. The role emphasizes patient education, documentation, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• RN license in TX and active/unencumbered
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications current
• Minimum 2 years peri-operative experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree required
• Knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy and safety practices
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
• Proficient computer skills and EMR (Vision/other)
• Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environment
• Teamwork and cross-training in multiple clinical areas

Responsibilities

• Admit patients to the pre-op and PACU areas; develop nursing care plans
• Provide nursing care pre- and post-operatively
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes
• Administer medications as ordered and document appropriately
• Educate patients and families and obtain consent/verification
• Maintain sterile/therapeutic environment and ensure equipment is ready
• Communicate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and staff
• Respect patient privacy and HIPAA requirements
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient flow
