Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a PreOp PACU Registered Nurse for North County Surgicenter. You will provide postoperative nursing care, ensure patient safety, and support discharge criteria in an ambulatory setting.

The role emphasizes airway management, IV care, and vigilant monitoring in alignment with center policies. The position requires an RN license, 1+ year clinical experience (preop/pacu preferred), BCLS at hire, ACLS within 30 days, and PALS if required by the facility.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably Preop/PACU/Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification required on employment, online not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' care area and ensure equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
• In insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
