Job summary

Berkshire Eye Surgery Center is seeking a full-time PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered. The RN will provide continuous, high-quality care for surgical patients, assist with procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort from pre-op through discharge.

Qualified candidates have an accredited RN degree, active PA RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years in PACU/ICU; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make nursing-judgment-based decisions.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients undergoing surgery, with ongoing evaluation of condition and safety.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for discharge.
