Job summary

Kips Bay Endoscopy Center is seeking a Per Diem PreOp/PACU RN to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients before and after surgery. The role supports physicians in procedure rooms, administers conscious sedation, and ensures safety and comfort throughout perioperative care.

Requirements include RN licensure in NY, BLS/ACLS, and preferred 2 years in PreOp/PACU or critical care. Strong judgment and communication skills are essential for effective patient management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PreOp, PACU, Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgement.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques.
• Provide post-anesthesia care including assessment, planning, implementation, and discharge preparation.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (PreOp/PACU RN) at Kips Bay Endoscopy Center

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Pay Range:

$45.00/hr - $55.00/hr (Wages are determined based upon an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
