Job summary

Surgical Specialty Center of Mid-Atlantic is hiring a Part Time PreOp PACU RN in Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on post-anesthesia recovery, patient safety, and coordination of care as patients recover from general anesthesia or sedation.

The RN provides comprehensive patient care, participates in assessing and planning for discharge, and supports the surgical team in the PACU environment. Requires MD RN license, BLS/ACLS, and PACU/ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active Maryland RN license.

• Minimum 2 years in PACU or critical care preferred.
• Strong nursing judgment and communication.

Responsibilities

PreOp PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Surgical Specialty Center of Mid-Atlantic

The PreOp PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
