Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will gather data, collaborate with the care team, and update care plans while documenting outcomes.

The role requires knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and at least one year of acute care experience is preferred. Maryland LPN licensure is required, with CPR certification noted as not required for Hospice staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing theory and practice knowledge from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience: One-year acute care experience preferred.
• Licensure: Current Maryland LPN registration with the State Board of Examiners of Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Assists in gathering data to assess physical, psychological, social, spiritual needs of patients.
• Collaborates with the registered nurse and interdisciplinary team in planning patient care on admission.
• Reviews care plans and provides input for updates.
• Supports direct patient care using clinical nursing skills and judgment.
• Educates patients and families and documents outcomes in the medical record.
• Initiates emergency measures when patient condition dictates.
• Prepares patients for tests and procedures and administers medications per policy.
