Job summary

White Square Vascular Surgery PA is seeking a skilled Preoperative, PACU, and Intraoperative RN to join our outpatient surgical team in Maryland. The role focuses on perioperative patient care across preop, intraop, and PACU phases with emphasis on vascular procedures.

The ideal candidate has OR experience, strong infection control practice, and excellent communication skills to educate patients and families and collaborate with the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in perioperative nursing and OR procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative assessments and vital signs review.
• Prepare patients for surgery with aseptic technique and accurate documentation.
• Administer medications including IV infusions, injections, and sedation per protocol.
• Monitor patient vitals and conditions during intraoperative and PACU phases.

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Preoperative, PACU, and Intraoperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative process in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess experience in acute care settings, including operating room procedures, critical care, and post-anesthesia recovery. Candidates with expertise in vascular are highly preferred. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and safety during surgical interventions and post-op care. No nights, weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preoperative assessments, including vital signs, patient history, and physical examinations
• Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring aseptic technique and proper documentation of medical records
• Administer medications including IV infusions, injections, and sedation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines
• Monitor patient vital signs and physiological parameters during intraoperative procedures and in PACU
• Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain sterile environments during surgeries
• Educate patients and families about post‑operative care plans, discharge instructions, and pain management strategies
• Review and document pre-operative testing

Skills

• Proven experience in perioperative nursing, OR experience strongly preferred
• Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration (including narcotics), and aseptic technique
• Ability to perform patient assessments
• Familiarity with infection control practices and sterile processing standards
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within healthcare teams and education of patients/families

Qualifications
