Summary:

This role involves being responsible and accountable for delivering both direct and indirect patient care. It promotes and maintains adaptive responses in individuals and groups, considering the holistic person, their values, and cultural differences.

The RN must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients across different age groups, understanding principles of growth and development over the lifespan and considering developmental status in care planning.

PRIMARY (ESSENTIAL) DUTIES:

• Make decisions and judgments based on knowledge and experience, interpreting, analyzing, and integrating data to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care and outcomes.
• Deliver and coordinate patient care using the nursing process: assessment, expected outcome identification, intervention, and evaluation.
• Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and ensure family involvement.
• Engage in QA/QI activities, integrating quality improvement concepts into nursing practice.
• Prior experience as an Anesthesia Nurse or in a surgical setting is highly recommended.
• Possess a valid RN licensure in Alabama and adhere to practice limitations set by the Alabama Board of Nursing and Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
