Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks an ultrasound technologist to operate multi-modality ultrasound equipment, position patients, and obtain high-quality diagnostic images. You will perform a range of sonography studies and document preliminary findings for physician interpretation.

Under supervision, you will assist with invasive procedures, coordinate with staff, maintain records, verify charge codes, and help train students while upholding GBMC values.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one (1) year ultrasound training program at an approved school of diagnostic imaging or a minimum of two (2) years of supervised on-the-job training.
• Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification).

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and control the use of all ultrasound equipment for diagnostic procedures.
• Perform general sonography examinations and routine measurements on all patient types.
• Assist physicians during sterile invasive procedures (diagnostic, biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis).
• Verify charge code information in the Radiology Information System and ensure complete documentation.
• Schedule and manage ultrasound exam flow to optimize equipment utilization.
• Demonstrate and supervise ultrasound training for students and other staff.
