Job summary

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. seeks a Child and Family Educator (CFE) for its Early Head Start Prenatal Program.

The CFE will guide participating pregnant women through pregnancy, sharing information on fetal development, nutrition, labor, delivery, and breastfeeding during weekly home visits to support a healthy birth and infant growth. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with ages 0–3 in a preschool setting.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; Russian/English; Chinese/English; Korean/English; or English/Creole languages valued.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and travel across five boroughs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly home visits with each family and deliver health, educational, nutritional and child growth information.
• Coordinate with parents to ensure prenatal and well-baby care, health screenings, and nutrition follow-up.
• Complete family partnership agreements, developmental screenings, and required assessments.
• Provide support in parent/child activities to encourage developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers.
• Contribute to design and delivery of Early Child Development training for parents, staff, and FCC providers.
• Assist in annual Program Self-Assessment and follow-up reporting.
• Maintain accurate written/electronic records (TSG, IFSP, screenings, lesson plans).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
