Job summary

Tao Group Hospitality in New York seeks an experienced dining room server to deliver gracious, professional service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will interact with guests, present menus, answer questions, and ensure accurate order entry and timely delivery of food and beverages.

Training includes in-venue dining room server training, Alcohol Awareness Certificate, and Food Handling Certificate.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality experience.
• Previous dining room server experience.
• Experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook.
• Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests.
• Maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the entire venue.
• Provide professional and exceptional service.
• Present menus, answer questions and make suggestions for all food and beverage items.
• Inform guests of all food and beverage specials, with prices.
• Solicit allergies or dietary restrictions from each guest.
• Enter all orders into the POS system and follow cash/payment procedures.
• Ensure the delivery of all food and beverages to guests.
• Follow supervisor's instructions and be a team player.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.
• Serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations and training standards.
• Comply with health and sanitation standards.
• Work as part of a team and support fellow team members.
• Complete end-of-shift financial procedures.
• Communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House staff, managers and chefs.
• Set up floor and opening/closing procedures including sanitation and setup tasks.
• Report breakage or damage to management.
• Attend daily pre-service meetings and training sessions.

Education

Previous hospitality experience.

Previous dining room server experience.

Experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
