Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Paint Prep at its Erial, NJ location. The role involves cleaning, grinding and sanding surfaces of components prior to painting. The position pays $20.68 per hour with a 6:00AM-4:30PM shift, and occasional Saturdays when needed.

Responsibilities include examining surfaces for defects, selecting abrasives, operating grinders, and finishing surfaces to ensure quality coatings. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be willing to work overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Must lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work overtime
• Less than high school education/ or up to 1 month related experience or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine surface defects and prepare surfaces before painting.
• Operate grinder and attach abrasive wheels according to specs.
• Grind and sand surfaces to remove burrs and achieve smooth finish.
• Polish ground areas for unmarred surfaces.
• Replace worn abrasive disks/wheels as needed.
