Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Paint Prep associate in Erial, NJ to clean, grind, and sand surfaces prior to painting. The position offers an hourly pay of $20.68 with shift hours 6:00AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday and Saturdays when needed.

Responsibilities include examining surfaces for defects, selecting and using grinders, removing scratches and burs, and ensuring a smooth finish. Overtime and physical lifting are required; comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Less than high school education or up to one month related experience/education combo.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and feel surface of workpiece to identify defects.
• Select and attach abrasive wheel or disk to grinder per specifications.
• Operate grinder to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material and burs.
• Polish ground areas with finer abrasive for a smooth, unmarred finish.
• Replace worn abrasive disks and wheels as needed.
