Job summary

Wastequip is hiring a Paint Prep associate at our Erial, NJ location. The role involves cleaning, grinding, and sanding surfaces prior to painting, with an hourly pay of $20.68 and a shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, plus Saturdays when needed.

The job requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work overtime. Prior related experience is not strictly required, but attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude are important.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Overtime may be required beyond regular shift hours.
• Less than high school education or equivalent experience acceptable.
• Team player mindset and reliability are preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions are essential.

Responsibilities

• Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects.
• Selects abrasive wheel or disk per specifications and attaches to grinder.
• Starts grinder and moves it over surface to remove scratches, lamination, excess weld material, and burs.
• Polishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce a smooth, unmarred surface.
• Replaces worn abrasive disks/wheels.
