Job summary

LErmitage Beverly Hills is seeking a skilled Engineer to oversee maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks across the property. The role involves collaborating with housekeeping and guest services to ensure facilities meet luxury standards and guest satisfaction.

The engineer will handle mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and building management, while ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA and local codes. A strong guest-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1-2 years of engineering support experience in hospitality is preferred.
• Ability to use power and hand tools and handle equipment safely.
• The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and disposal.
• Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Expresses enthusiasm for the role and passion for maintenance.
• Must prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion under pressure.
• Background check must be satisfactory.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to LErmitage guidelines to ensure health, safety and guest comfort.
• Respond to guest calls via maintenance work order application and update status.
• Communicate with guests about repair progress in rooms.
• Display knowledge in MEP systems, carpentry, painting, kitchen equipment and energy management.
• Work with housekeeping to ensure guest facilities meet standards.
• Inspect areas during walks and report task items to leadership.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment and tools.
• Program TVs and handle general housekeeping/engineering duties.
• Maintain safe, tidy maintenance areas; escalate unsafe conditions.
• Complete mid-level troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
