Job summary

Avalon Beverly Hills is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to perform maintenance and repairs across the hotel facilities. You will ensure proper operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, participate in inspections, and respond to maintenance requests to keep guest areas safe and comfortable.

The role involves preventive maintenance, assisting with guest room and public area upkeep, and coordinating with the Engineering team to minimize disruption to guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Previous experience in general maintenance or engineering in hospitality.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical components.
• Carry out preventive maintenance per the schedule; inspect and service equipment.
• Support guest rooms and public areas; assist housekeeping with maintenance needs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot hotel systems to ensure safety, efficiency and reliability.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards; coordinate with Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
• Communicate effectively with guests about maintenance disruptions and resolutions.
