BHHIC Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Premium Billing Specialist to support accurate billing, reconciliation, and refunds for Specialty Risk. You will work with agents, premium finance companies, and internal partners to resolve billing questions and ensure timely, accurate payments.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple accounts while delivering high levels of customer service and problem

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years professional work experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with insurance terminology is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection and reconciliation of outstanding premium and unearned balances.
• Communicate with insurance agents about balances due and payment questions.
• Negotiate payment plans and resolve billing inquiries.
• Research and reconcile payments, offsets, and unapplied premium.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidential information.
• Provide support for company payables and billing activities.
• Review refunds to ensure funds go to the correct recipient.
