Job summary

Simmons University in Boston’s Fenway campus seeks an adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Prelicensure Nursing program. The instructor will orient students to policies, review prerequisites, and identify clinical site requirements during the semester.

The role supports 6–8 students, conducts pre/post-conference, plans experiences, and evaluates student performance. Expect 8–16 hours per week, with responsibilities aligned to nursing theory and patient care across life spans.

Qualifications

• Must have a BSN with 5 years of experience or an MSN, or be matriculated in an MSN program.
• Hold a Massachusetts nursing license as indicated in the employment agreement.
• Clinical instructors must be available for 8–16 hours per week and adhere to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meet clinical agency and course requirements for orientation.
• Attend faculty orientation and team meetings each semester.
• Provide clinical supervision and teaching for 6–8 students per course.
• Develop and select clinical experiences aligned with course objectives.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain evaluative records.
• Mentor students and model professional and ethical nursing practice.
