Job summary

Simmons University in Boston invites applications for a full-time 12-month contract faculty position in the School of Nursing’s pre-licensure programs. The Simulation Center role partners with students, faculty, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality simulation-based learning aligned with the School of Nursing’s mission.

The candidate will teach simulations, contribute to curriculum development, and support equity and inclusion in the learning environment.

Qualifications

• Earned graduate degree in nursing required; Doctorate in nursing preferred.
• Assistant Professor of Practice rank requires at least 5 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Associate Professor of Practice rank requires at least 10 years of relevant nursing experience.
• As a condition of employment at Simmons, hold and maintain a Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.

Responsibilities

• Teaching simulations as primary responsibility; full teaching load on campus is 7 sections/28 WLUs.
• Engage in curricula development and alignment with program outcomes.
• Collaborate with didactic faculty and simulation team to ensure congruence of learning activities.
• Demonstrate commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging in the learning environment.
• Maintain knowledge of use, operation, and programming of different simulator technologies.
• Contribute to design and revision of simulation cases for immersive learning experiences.
• Evaluate student outcomes using formative and summative methods.
• Provide demonstrations and orientation sessions in the simulation center.
