Job summary

Diocese of St. Augustine is seeking an Early Learning Assistant Teacher (PreK3) for St. Clare Early Learning Center in Yulee, FL.

This full-time, non-exempt role runs 8:30 A.M. - 5:30 P.M., supporting a warm, nurturing classroom environment for young learners. The assistant helps implement curriculum, plans activities, conducts health checks, and engages families through regular updates and parent meetings.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• DCF 45-hour training preferred or started within 30 days of hire and completed within 6 months.
• Prior experience in a child care setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development for birth to 5 years.
• Criminal background check must be cleared before employment and every five years.
• Protecting God’s Children (PGC) workshop completion is required.
• TB screening and a physical exam within 10 days of hire and every 2 years.
• Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certification must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and implementing a culturally sensitive educational program.
• Support daily lesson plans to promote cognitive, verbal, social, emotional and physical development.
• Contribute to ongoing assessment and documentation for individualization.
• Plan a balanced daily routine with teacher-directed and child-directed activities.
• Provide a developmentally appropriate, stimulating learning environment with fresh materials weekly.
• Attend parent meetings and communicate progress to families.
• Participate in on-site and off-site professional development trainings; complete 35 annual in-service hours.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Education
