Job summary

Diocese of St. Augustine's Christ the King Early Learning Center is seeking an Early Learning Assistant Teacher in Miami.

Under supervision of the lead teacher and director, you will help create a warm, developmentally appropriate classroom for children ages birth to 5, with health checks, nutrition support, and family partnership activities. You will assist in lesson planning, ongoing assessments, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment, while completing required trainings and background

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• DCF 45-hour training preferred; can be started within 30 days and completed within 6 months.
• Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Criminal background check and Protecting God’s Children training required before employment.
• TB screening and physical within ten (10) days of hire and every two years thereafter.
• Knowledge of safety and abuse reporting procedures after training.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate educational activities.
• Support daily lesson planning based on approved curriculum for children birth to 5 years.
• Assist with health checks, nutrition, and accompanying safety procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and support family involvement activities.
• Participate in on-site and off-site professional development; minimum 35 annual in-service hours.
• Contribute to a positive, nurturing classroom environment and collaboration with lead teacher.

Education
