What you’ll do
As a Lead PreK Counts Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe space where children can explore and learn literacy, science, math, art, computers, dramatic play, and other skills with hands-on activities. Your main areas of focus will be:
  • Creative Curriculum: Develop & implement an engaging curriculum that focuses on reading, writing, and math
  • Activity Planner: Design age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth - making learning fun!
  • Parent-Teacher Partner: Work with our Family Engagement Specialist to maintain consistent communication with parents through visits, discussions, and reports to keep them involved in their children's education
  • Classroom Caretaker: Create a clean, safe, and hygienic classroom environment, ideal for children's well-being and enjoyment
  • Mentor:Lead by example and oversee teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow guidelines and add a touch of enthusiasm to planned activities
  • Regulation Navigator: Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations
  • Professional Growth: Develop a plan for continuous improvement in your professional skills and knowledge
What you need to thrive in this role
A deep understanding of child development and the ability to work collaboratively with children, parents, and teacher assistants are essential for this role. Additional details include:
  • Education/Certification: A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Pennsylvania Teachers Certificate is required
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of childcare experience in a classroom setting is required
  • Skills required: A positive attitude, patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children are a must! As are: excellent communication skills with both children and adults, a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs., climb and descend stairs, move and exercise with the children, stand for long periods, and pass a health screening
  • Location: Our classrooms are located at 41 North 3rd Street in Easton, PA
  • Schedule:Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm, August through May (with the option to work summers)
