Job summary

Cleburne Independent School District is seeking an Instructional Aide to support classroom learning at Assigned Campus and level. This non-exempt position requires collaboration with teachers to reinforce learning and manage instructional materials.

The aide will assist with supervision, student activities, and routine classroom tasks, while following district policies and supporting student growth and safety in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have 48 college hours or qualify via state program.
  • Prior experience working with children in an instructional setting is preferred.
  • Ability to follow district policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning material introduced by the teacher.
  • Operate and care for equipment or instructional materials used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
  • Help students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
  • Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
  • Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as assigned by the teacher.
  • Assist with supervision of students during meals, emergency drills, assemblies, play periods or field trips.
  • Assist with supervision of daily routines and schedules.
  • Provide information and assistance to a substitute teacher should one be assigned.
  • Participate in staff development as required to ensure professional growth.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committee meetings, or ARD meetings as required by job assignment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Must have 48 college hours or be considered highly qualified through completion of a state approved program.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain a positive attitude in the work environment

Ability to use good judgement in problem-solving and decision-making

Ability to follow district policies and procedures

Ability to accept supervisory direction and desire to improve job skills

Ability to demonstrate tact, courtesy and helpfulness in dealing with staff, students, parents, and visitors to the school

Experience:
