Job summary

Cleburne Independent School District is seeking an Instructional Aide to support teachers and students on Assigned Campus. This non-exempt position involves assisting with small groups, supervising activities, and reinforcing learning materials for diverse learners during the instructional day, across 187 contract days.

The ideal candidate has at least 48 college hours or equivalent state qualification, prior experience with children, and a willingness to follow district policies.

Qualifications

  • Must have 48 college hours or be considered highly qualified through completion of a state approved program.
  • Experience working with children in instructional settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Operate and care for classroom equipment used in instruction.
  • Help students master instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
  • Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
  • Guide independent study, enrichment and remedial work as assigned by the teacher.
  • Assist with supervision of students during meals, drills, assemblies, play periods or field trips.
  • Assist with daily routines and schedules.
  • Provide information and assistance to a substitute teacher as needed.
  • Participate in staff development and meetings for professional growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or administration.

Qualifications

Experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning material or skillsintroduced by the teacher.
  • Operate and cares for equipment or instructional materials used in the classroom forinstructional purposes.
  • Help student master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
  • Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and/or instructional materials as directed by theteacher.

  • Assist with the supervision of students during meals, emergency drills, assemblies, playperiods or field trips.
  • Assist with supervision of daily routines and schedules.
  • Provide information and assistance to a substitute teacher should one be assigned.
  • Participate in appropriate staff development as required to ensure professional growth.
  • Participate in staff meeting, committee meetings, or ARD meetings as required by jobassignment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
