Job summary

The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District is seeking a 1.0FTE Special Education Coordinator to assist the Director of Student Services and Building Principals with oversight of special education and related therapies services and programming, PreK through Grade 5.

Qualifications

MA DESE Administrator of Special Education licensure is required or the ability to become licensed within the first year of employment.
MA DESE Special Education licensure, or related field licensure, is required.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the eligibility determination process from referral to facilitation of the team meeting.
Facilitate the OOD Team Meeting process and monitor OOD students in accordance with MA DESE requirements.
Collaborate with Principals, Curriculum Leaders/Coaches, District Administrators, and general education teachers in monitoring the progress of students with disabilities.
Coordinate and oversee the district Kindergarten Screening Process.
Assist in the hiring of department staff.
Schedule weekly coordination meetings with special education and related therapies staff at each elementary school.
Assist with the preparation of financial and programmatic reports required at the district, state, and federal levels as they relate to special education and related services.
Assist in the development of the yearly department budget including staffing needs, instructional materials and resources, and professional development needs.
