Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking licensed teachers to join our urban district focused on equity and high expectations. Under the supervision of the school principal, teachers will instruct, track progress, manage classrooms, and collaborate with counselors and general education staff to support diverse learners.

The role requires a valid Illinois teaching license with endorsements, a bachelor's degree or higher, and completion of CPS's online application and teaching profile.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education with endorsements for the role.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design learning objectives and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and procedures.
• Respond to the needs of all students by designing engaging instruction and assessments.
• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills and exercise professional judgment with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety through consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct.
