Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree program in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Must be available for a Co‑Op term in Boston, MA.
- Strong interest in laboratory automation and data systems.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; Vertex does not sponsor internships.
Responsibilities
- Support automation workflows in the Preformulation group.
- Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data to support decisions.
- Document procedures and results clearly and consistently.
- Troubleshoot automation systems and data workflows.
- Collaborate with scientists to optimize workflows and automate processes.
- Help develop and implement automated lab tools and systems.
- Assist with setup, qualification, and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Work with cross-functional teams and ensure lab safety standards.
