Job summary

Vertex seeks a Preformulation Co-Op to support automation initiatives in early drug formulation development. This on-site Boston role runs January–July 2027 and focuses on hands-on lab work, data analysis, and documenting procedures.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Chemical/Biomedical/Pharmaceutical/Automation Engineering programs with experience in wet-lab work and data tools (Excel, Python, JMP) and strong communication skills. This is a paid, full-time co-op based in Boston.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in undergrad or advanced degree in chemical, biomedical, pharmaceutical, or automation engineering.
• Strong interest in lab automation, data systems, and process improvement.
• Hands-on wet-lab experience and proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, JMP).
• Effective communication skills.
• Full-time availability in Boston from January to July 2027.
