Confidential Employer. is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Manager to lead mechanical construction estimates and budgets in Colorado.

The role focuses on converting project concepts into viable preconstruction opportunities for HVAC, piping, and sheet metal systems, on-site in Colorado. You will collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors, guiding design-build or design-assist efforts from early concepts to turnover, while identifying value engineering opportunities

Qualifications

• 6+ years of mechanical construction estimating, preconstruction, design, or cost control experience.
• Experience developing budgets for complex mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and commercial mechanical construction.
• Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction activities for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and proposals for HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and sheet metal systems.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors to develop effective mechanical solutions.
• Manage design-build and design-assist projects from concept through final preconstruction turnover.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, project budgets, and negotiated proposals.
• Coordinate with estimating, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure project execution.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to securing future opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant mechanical construction estimating, preconstruction, design, or cost control experience.
• Experience developing conceptual budgets and proposals for complex mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, or commercial mechanical construction.
• Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training and relevant experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software; Bluebeam experience is especially relevant to the Thornton opportunity.
• LEED accreditation, P.E. licensure, and QuickPen or AutoBid experience are valuable additional qualifications.
