Qualifications

• Strong quantity take-off capabilities and data summarization.
• Working knowledge of Excel; familiarity with OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks and Revit is a plus.

This role is responsible for developing accurate and timely project estimates—both independently and collaboratively—while actively managing scope and supporting budget objectives across the project team.Key to success is the ability to build and review cost estimates, perform detailed quantity take-offs, and deliver value analysis that drives cost efficiency. Candidates must also leverage historical project cost data and provide expert preconstruction guidance to project management teams.This position requires close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including owners, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, developers, and internal teams such as marketing and construction management. The role reports to the Senior Preconstruction Manager or Director of Preconstruction and partners closely with project managers throughout the lifecycle of each project.**Some things you can expect to do:*** Work with project managers to develop conceptual and detailed estimates.* Perform quantity take-offs of all construction systems* Create project estimates individually and with a team* Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals* Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements* Record final estimates and maintain cost history* Create, track, and manage project scope* Participate and review buyout and GMP estimates* Create preconstruction schedules with project management and field personal* Support the development, architectural, and construction team with preconstruction expertise including value design, costs, project schedule, procurement, and project pursuits* Train Cost Engineers and Project Management staff* Consistently achieves customer satisfaction and Raving Fan goals* Review and provide feedback on project estimates created by the project managers. Provide direction for understanding project scope, market pricing, and available resources* Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets of types. Capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs**You will really do stand out if:*** 4 year engineering, architectural or management degree required.* 4-6 years commercial construction experience.* Knowledge of construction means and methods and able to read and understand project plans.* Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.* Be able to perform thoughtful and accurate quantity take offs, and summarize data in a meaningful way.* Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel.
